Hope: An Action Based Solution Within Educational Institutions
Hope: The Strongest Force
Hope to me is arguably one of the most beautiful forces on Earth. It gives people the peace of mind that something better is to come, and especially for those who are young in this world, hope plays an important role in the molding of the mind and conscience. For me, hope is what got me from where I was to where I am today. Without hope, I had nothing, I felt lost, with the hope of purpose, my dream is becoming fulfilled. I think one of the major failures in educational institutions is schools do not teach students to hope for the better, the only things schools teach is to hope that they do well on a test. That is not a effective way of using hope, in fact it is quite the contrary, and can even kill the desire to mold one’s future. Hope is very perspective based and it can be very subjective, hope can be something as innocuous as hoping for a new toy, or it can be something even bigger, like a hope for purpose. Viktor Frankl wonderfully creates a concept of hope in his psychological idea called “logo-therapy.” Logo comes from the Greek word “logos” which means meaning, and within this logo-therapy, the main point of that therapy is to state that a human being’s main motivation in life is to find meaning, and purpose in one’s life.
