Communal ventures and ecosystem expansionism are the primary components that conceive of the growth of a product. Geographical stagnation only enables an ecosystem to grow in one specific region, which in return, hinders growth and enlargement. Syscoin however, is making strides to never adhere to such a notion of geographical contraction and this is most notable in their recent events that occurred within Africa. If you haven’t heard of Syscoin, the blockchain is one of the oldest chains in existence, proving its legitimacy through longevity, an attribute that is virtually nonexistent for a majority of cryptocurrency projects; Syscoin however, leads by example through a longevous history and a growing ecosystem.
Syscoin Meets Africa: Africa Offline Events
Syscoin attended the “Syscoin Africa Offline Events” and it is crucial to highlight the themes, components and turnout of these events. To begin, over 100 attendees were part of this event, and this was across three different offline events in African in both English and French. The events occurred in the country of Benin, and the Nigerian states of Osun and Enugu. Nigeria is commonly referred to as the “Giant of Africa” because of its rapid industrialization, extremely large population and growing economy, which is why this location was a prime area to host these events and grow not only Syscoin, but the digital economy thereof as well. Through the new Syscoin Ambassador program proactive community members from Africa have worked with the team to set up multiple offline events in different locations. Understanding the digital economy is crucial for new generations globally and especially in Africa where their is scarcity in the utilization of digital assets. In essence, education is the future for any nation and any continent.
Educating A Nation: The Syscoin Model
The events that Syscoin attended aimed to educate students in Nigeria and Benin and also, blockchain enthusiasts as a whole. Africa is a prime location to begin educating new generations because of their economic need for blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies; we have heard the saying, “banked the unbanked”, well, Africa embodies this notion. In Sub-Saharan Africa, specifically, over 350 million people are unbanked, accounting for about 17% of the worlds population of unbanked individuals. There are calls to action surrounding growing the presence blockchain technology in Africa and yet, there are very few projects that actually act on it. Syscoin defies this idleness, and this effort not only educates individuals about blockchain, but also, values education and provides free meals to attendees in the process; it is evident that this is a benevolent and genuine effort. Syscoin also has future plans and events in the works to grow the cryptocurrency community in Africa; such events include future hackathons that focus on developing on growing Rollux and comprehending ZK Rollups and layer two scaling solutions. In the wise words of Victor Odesanmi, an attendee of the event “No man becomes great without solving a problem or adding value to humanity, we grow by teaching and involving others.”
